Knife pulled in fight between two women in Masset

On April 8, 2012, just after midnight, two women were arguing on the street in Old Massett, when a knife was pulled and used in the altercation. The victim received a number of serious stab wounds and cuts to her head, face and lower body before witnesses were able to break it up.

A bystander, who tried to break up the altercation also received a knife wound on his forearm. Both victims were taken to the Masset Hospital to receive medical attention and the female was hospitalized.

The female victim suffered injuries that were potentially life threatening, but due to the proficient care of medical staff, police were advised that she would recover from her wounds.

Masset RCMP located and arrested the female responsible for the attack without incident. Charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated assault is 30 year old Trista WILLIAMS of Masset B.C. Also charged is 32 year old Jason COLLINSON for Accessory to Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Both were remanded in RCMP custody and are scheduled for a bail hearing on April 12, 2012.

The female victim has since been released from the Masset hospital and with the help of her family is recovering at home.
