CHSS students in Susan Enns foods classes got a hands-on lesson in Temaki Sushi preparation when Japanese teacher Miyuki Kura visited their classes last week. Kura, who is spending a year in Prince Rupert, strengthening her English skills and visiting Canadian class rooms, has visited many classes in Port Edward and Prince Rupert demonstrating such things as calligraphy, cooking and Japanese tea preparations. Kura is spending the year at Herb and Sandy Pond's house and will be returning to Japan at the end of the school year. She says her year in Prince Rupert has kept her busy and greatly improved her English skills and knowledge of British Columbia's school system.
