A committee is calling on PRDTU President Joanna Larson to run as an independent in the upcoming election.

Since losing the NDP nomination vote to replace outgoing MLA Gary Coons in January, a group is calling on Prince Rupert and District Teachers' Union President Joanna Larson to run as an independent in the upcoming election.

Larson confirmed a group calling themselves the Committee to Elect Joanna Larson for Independent MLA for North Coast Riding have recently approached her, but said at this time she's unsure whether she will run.
