UPDATE: Canada-wide Shaw service restored

Shaw customers across Canada are experiencing problems with telephone, TV and internet service.

UPDATE: 4:48 p.m.

Internet, phone and television service has been restored to Shaw customers as of 3 p.m PST.

A significant number of Shaw customers across Canada were impacted by the outage Thursday afternoon.

According to Shaw the outage was due to the result of a software failure during a routine upgrade to the network.

The matter is still being investigated.

Shaw customers right across the country are experiencing outages to their telephone, television and Internet service.

Reports indicate the outage occurred about 1 p.m.

The outage is being investigated, according to Shaw’s website, and crews are working to restore service.

It is unclear how many customers across Canada are affected. In B.C., complaints of outages range from Vancouver, to Port Coquitlam, to Victoria, to Kelowna.

Stores in the Central Okanagan are reporting debit and credit machines to be down, affecting business for the day.

There is currently no estimated time of restoring service.
