A&W is still working on getting a location in Prince Rupert.

A&W continuing to work on Prince Rupert location

While there hasn't been movement on the ground, a spokesperson for A&W says the company is still committed to a restaurant in Prince Rupert.

While there hasn’t been movement on the ground, a spokesperson for A&W says the company is still committed to making a restaurant in Prince Rupert a reality.

“We’re still working on various conditions of the deal, which sometimes take longer than we would like, but are still pursuing that project. As for the drive thru, we will be conducting traffic studies, which we do in other markets, but still see that as part of the A&W,” said Graham Cook, A&W’s vice-president of restaurant expansion.

“We’re moving forward and we have franchisees interested in operating it. At this point it’s not likely to be an open restaurant until this time next year, but we are still very interested in Prince Rupert.”

The restaurant location is proposed for the upper parking lot of the Rupert Square Mall.
