The rarely seen Watson Island appears in Mayor Lee Brain’s most recent video.
The mayor posted the video of his most recent tour on Nov. 26 to his Facebook page.
Brain said the city is 90 per cent done decommissioning the island. The pulp chemicals have been removed from the site, which has been proposed as a location for a small scale liquid propane facility.
Pembina, the mayor said, is currently conducting environmental, safety and First Nation consultations. An agreement would increase revenue for the city, which owns the land.
An open house on Watson Island will be held at the North Coast Meeting and Convention Centre on Dec. 6 at 4 to 7 p.m.
