Annunciation School dominated the annual School District 52 Prince Rupert Elementary School track and field event June 6.
The Catholic school's athletes racked up 33 ribbons during the meet at Charles Secondary School including 11 first place, 14 second place and eight third place finishes.
The morning competition included high jump, long jump, ball throw and running races of 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m as well as relay races for boys and girls in under 9-years (Grade 4) and 10-year-old (Grade 5) divisions.
Six schools competed.
École Roosevelt came in second place with eight first, five second place and seven third place ribbons.
Lax Kxeen Elementary School was third with 15 ribbons (four first, six second and five third) followed by Conrad Elementary with four, two and seven respectively.
Pineridge Elementary (six ribbons) and Lax Kw’alaams Wap Suwilaawksa (three ribbons) finished 5th and 6th.
The school district was pleased with the participation in the event and the successes of all the athletes who competed.
