ORIGINAL STORY:

Everybody is OK as a major fire at the Pine Crest Townhomes near 11th Avenue and Emmanuel Street burns, according to police at the scene.

The blaze broke out in one of the end units of a recently renovated bank of townhomes prompting authorities to evacuate all the units in two buildings. A third building nearby is currently unoccupied awaiting renovations.

Firefighters are currently battling the blaze from the ground, from the roof and from a ladder truck to keep it from spreading to adjacent units but by all appearances, several units are a complete loss.

No cause of the fire has been released at this time.

Emergency services including police, fire, ambulance, BC Hydro and victims services are on the scene at this time.
