Prince Rupert's popular 1.7-kilometre Rushbrook Trail is closed for the whole month of February.
The path is gravel and features three open deck bridges, showcasing a variety of vibrant flora and fauna for visitors.
As per Kaien Trails Society, the risks associated with the trail are some steep inclines, uneven footing, wildlife and rockfall exposure.
"Work will be starting on the Rushbrook Trail to upgrade accessibility and address safety concerns," said the society on Facebook. The non-profit is responsible for maintaining the trail.
Currently, biking is not permissible on the pathway.
Kaien Trail's Master Trail Plan, as reflected on its website, includes upgrading the trail to make it a multi-use track that accommodates cyclists and wheelchair users.
