Police conducted a drug raid this morning in the 200 block of Third Avenue.

Police were out en force downtown last week raiding suspected drug properties.

Four RCMP cruisers descended on a property in the 200 block of Third Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. on July 4 to execute a warrant under the federal Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

During the execution of the warrant, police arrested one individual and also located suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

This is the second warrant that has been executed at this location in the last few months.

The following day, Prince Rupert RCMP executed another warrant on the 1300 block of Overlook Street.

Police arrested two individuals and seized suspected cocaine, a firearm, ammunition and cash. The investigation began in March 2024 in response to reported drug trafficking reported in the area.

"The Prince Rupert RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in both of these search warrants," said Inspector Gerald Walker, Prince Rupert commanding officer. "Keeping illicit drugs off the streets of Prince Rupert is a priority for the RCMP."

"We encourage the public to continue to call the police if they suspect any criminal activities are ongoing in their neighbourhoods," Insp. Walker added.

To report any suspicious activity you can contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-624-2136, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
