Harley riders raise $10K for Salvation Army

The annual Harley Riders Group Toy Run collects toys and cash for the Salvation Army Christmas campaign

A group of 95 bikes and about 135 people revved through the streets of Prince Rupert on Sept. 7 and raised almost $10,000 for the Salvation Army.

"The curling club was packed, and bands played till one a.m. with a good crowd on the dance floor," said Chris Rose, president of the Prince Rupert Harley Riders Group.

He says about 250 to 275 individuals participated in the door prizes and the 50/50 poker draw.

After this successful event, he looks forward to presenting the cheque to the Salvation Army early in November.
