The district of Port Edward has appointed a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), with Todd Francis taking the reigns beginning in January.

An out-of-town hire, Francis will be joining the Port Edward administration from the district of Stewart, where he was also CAO.

Francis has also worked as city staff in Fort Resolution in the Northwest Territories and various Ontario communities before making the move to northern B.C.

“We are pleased that we have been able to fill this important position for the District, and on behalf of council and the community, we look forward to welcoming Todd to Port Edward and working with him on our many new and important initiatives,” said Mayor Knut Bjorndal.

Francis will be taking over from Elsie Lemke, who has been interim CAO for the district since Sept. 15.
