UPDATE: Missing 76-year-old woman found by RCMP

Leaving home out of character for Maria Pek, family fears for her well-being

Prince Rupert RCMP have found 76-year-old Maria Pek who went missing from her home in the early hours of June 7.

Police are not disclosing any details about the circumstances citing the privacy of the family.


The Prince Rupert RCMP is requesting the public’s help in locating 76-year-old Maria Piek.

Maria left her family’s home near Graham Avenue around 4 a.m. on June 7. Her family said this behaviour is out of character for Maria and they are worried for her well-being.

Pek is described as a caucasian female, 5'5" tall with a very slim build and short red hair. She was last scene wearing a blue night gown and slippers.

Anybody with information regarding Maria’s whereabouts should contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-624-2136 or, in case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
