Colours of India brighten Lester Centre

Organizers intend to grow the event to include more stops on a culture crawl

The North Coast Indo-Canadian Arts Club has once again thrilled a Lester Centre audience with a lively and energetic dance performance.

Dubbed Colours of India, the event took theatre-goers on a journey through the various regions of India through art, dress, food, culture and dance on Jan. 31.

Organized in collaboration with the Lester Centre and The Museum of Northern British Columbia, the evening was presented as a "culture crawl," although this year there was only one stop on the crawl.

Lester Centre manager Chris Armstrong and museum curator Susan Marsden, however, said the plan is to grow the event to encompass multiple stops and celebrate the broad diversity of Prince Rupert.
