Slip back into the Sixties for one, or both nights at the Tom Rooney Playhouse.

In a tribute to the rock and grooviness of the bygone era, Prince Rupert artists are taking the stage in hippie apparel.

While New York City has Fillmore East, and San Francisco has Fillmore West for a rock and roll venue, Prince Rupert has its Fillmore North.

In Part Two of Fillmore North: A Salute to the Sixties, Rupert Style, the venue promises a psychedelic light show, by the Cow Bay Lighting Company and several performances by Sarah Foster and Frances Riley, Cynthia Pyde and Ray Leonard, the Electric Hotflash with Mark Ciccone and Karin Ljunghand The Surfin’ Dudes — who will be called the Grateful Dudes for the show.

“If you’re into a great night of Sixties rock and roll and a light show and just being associated with a great show, come on down to the Tom Rooney Playhouse,” said Teddy Keehn, a member of the Surfin’ Dudes.

The audience is encouraged to wear Sixties outfits and wigs, but it’s not a must. Tickets can be purchased at Homework, The Argosy and Java Dot Cup for $15. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22.
