Prince Rupert music students perform Christmas concert

December 16, young musicians receiving lessons Prince Rupert presented the second annual Holiday Concert.

On Friday, December 16, young musicians receiving lessons from the Ring System Music Studio and Summit Sound Lounge Studio presented the second annual Holiday Concert, a performance that benefited the Lester Centre of the Arts.

“I was absolutely thrilled with the students performances. I thought they all did extremely well. They all had fun, and the crowd seemed to like it,” said music teacher Ian Lihou of Ring System Music Studio.

Approximately 40 students ages nine to 16 performed throughout the evening, singing, playing the guitar, bass, piano and drums for around 16 Christmas songs. Additionally, music student Jordan Kruithof lent her multimedia skills to the performance, and supplied the stage with holiday themed photos and the name of each of the music student.

Entrance for the Holiday Concert was by donation, with all the funds collected going towards the Lester Centre of the Arts for musical gear.

On Saturday, June 9, during Seafest, students will once again be taking the stage for both of the studios students’ year-end performance.
