The Mount Hays Quickclimb is set to run once again this year on Sept. 10.
The event is a timed ascent to the top of Mount Hays – all 708 metres of it. It’s designed for climbers of any experience, whether established runners or casual participants.
The purpose is to raise money for trail development and restoration around Kaien Island.
An awards ceremony and community BBQ will be held at the bottom of the mountain after the event wraps up.
The climb returned last summer after a five-year hiatus.
Last year, Davit Dzavashvili finished with the best overall time of 39 minutes and 24 seconds.
