In Our Opinion: Lough earns Ma Murray nod

The Prince Rupert Northern View is proud to announce that reporter Shannon Lough has been named as a finalist for the Ma Murrays

The Prince Rupert Northern View is proud to announce that reporter Shannon Lough has been named as a finalist to receive the prestigious John Collison Memorial Award for Investigative Journalism.

Lough was named a finalist for the 2017  British Columbia/Yukon Community Newspaper Association Ma Murray Award on Thursday for her work on The Last Post — the Earl Corliss story.

Lough, along with the Prince George Citizen’s Samantha Wright Allen and Richmond News’ Graeme Wood, have each been nominated in the category that recognizes the best article or series of articles  impacting the community that would not have come to light except for an extraordinary effort and significant research and/or investigation by the author.

This is Lough’s first Ma Murray nomination.

The winner will be announced on April 29 in Vancouver.
