Harvey Taylor

After a long period dealing with cancer Harvey passed away on his way back home from a trip in the sunshine to get some “Vitamin D therapy”. Harvey worked in the fish processing industry for 43 years, from Nelson Bros in Port Edward to Canadian Fishing Company in Prince Rupert. While working for BC Packers his skill and quality of work were recognized and he was asked to help set up labeling lines in Fiji and Ecuador. Harvey always embraced the technological changes that the industry has gone through and made the changes work.
Harvey is Past Zone Chairman of the Lion’s Club and as with
anything that he dedicated himself to, was an example of what a
service club best represents. He appreciated the camaraderie and made many close friendships through his dedicated involvement and travels with the Lions Club.
Harvey is survived and missed by daughter Debbie, son Mark, his brother Dennis and family along with many close friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Parker McLean for the support and care that he gave Harvey in his final days and to Judy Rea and Jennifer Nelson for all their care during his illness.
Service was held at the Lutheran Church in Prince Rupert,
Saturday September 28th at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Prince Rupert Lions Club which will be used for a bursary in memory of Harvey.
