December 4, 1919 - April 29, 2017

Olga, daughter of the late Daniel and Anastasia Karasosky, passed away on April 29, 2017 at the age of 97 in the care of the Acropolis Manor in Prince Rupert. She was born in Calmar, Alberta on December 4, 1919 and was the fifth oldest of eleven children.

At 19, Olga moved to Prince Rupert where she met and married her beloved Joseph and raised two children, Donald and Lorraine. She worked for many years in accounting and managerial positions for School District No. 52 until her retirement. She was an avid curler and a great fan of the B.C. Lions. In 1980, she and her husband moved to Duncan, B.C. to be close to their son and grand children. Thirty years later, she happily returned to Prince Rupert to be near her daughter and family. Olga’s long active life, great sense of humour, and her support and devotion for her family were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her cheery, happy spirit was contagious.

Olga is predeceased by her husband Joseph, son Donald and eight brothers and two sisters. She is sadly missed and fondly remembered by her daughter Lorraine (David) MacIlroy, daughter-in-law Dianna of Duncan; much loved grand sons Kevin (Moyna) of Prince Rupert, Bruce (Vicki) of Langford, Michael (Karli) and grand daughters Shannon (Ian), Kristy (Steve) of Duncan. She also leaves behind ten cherished great-grand children: Kaia, Jackson, Max, Nyla, Atwood, Shyloh, Teagan, Kyla, Alycia and Michelle, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly, she never got the chance to meet her great-great grand daughter Aryanna.

A heartfelt thanks from the family to the nurses and care-aids in the North Pod and Day Care Program for their loving and compassionate care of Mom (Baba)

By request, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens on Vancouver Island.
