We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, Jim Mortensen. He is survived by his children Douglas (Scarlett), Clinton (Rene), Heather (Edwin) and Marilyn (Richard). Grandchildren Jaxon, Maximus, Julius and Ryker. Siblings Lynne, Debbie and Erik. Step mother Yolana. Predeceased by his father Bill, mother Vera and brother Doug.
Jim was born on February 24th, 1961 in Prince Rupert, BC. He was the 4th of 5 children born to Bill and Vera. He grew up and lived in Prince Rupert where he made many great friends and memories. In 1980, he met Kathy and in 1982 they were married. They then had their first son Doug in 1983. Shortly after their second son Clint was born they moved down to the lower mainland where Heather and Marilyn were born and Jim lived out the rest of his life.
Jim loved and was very proud of his work as a drywall finisher. He was also very proud of the fact he was a member of the Metlakatla First Nation band. Jim lived his life to the fullest and was friendly to anyone he came across. He will truly be missed. Until we meet again Pops.
A celebration of life will be held on June 9th, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 @ 2290 152 St, Surrey, BC from 1-5pm.
