Five people were able to walk away from an accident that left an SUV submerged at the Prince Rupert waterfront.

The vehicle was driving in the lot next to the old VIA Rail station at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 3 when the driver lost control, sending the SUV over the banks of Rotary Waterfront Park. There were no injuries reported, but Const. Matt Ericson said the driver was issued various Motor Vehicle Act violations as a result of the incident.

A crane was brought in to fish the vehicle out of the water on the afternoon of Sept. 4.
