UPDATE: RCMP seeking four First Nations men in silver pick-up in relation to weekend sexual assault

UPDATE

Prince Rupert RCMP are seeking assistance in identifying four First Nations men in a silver, newer-model pick-up truck in relation to last weekend's sexual assault.

According to RCMP, the four men picked up the complainant in the downtown core near 6th Street and 2nd Ave. West on Nov. 23 and drove him to the Prince Rupert cemetery where he was sexually assaulted. He was later picked up by a taxi at the gaming centre and immediately taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

"Currently members of the Prince Rupert RCMP and General Investigations Section are actively investigating," said Const. Matt Ericson of the Prince Rupert RCMP, who noted the RCMP were called at approximately 7:40 p.m.

"We take these types of complaints extremely seriously and are asking the community for any information that may assist investigators in furthering this investigation."

As this investigation is ongoing, the Prince Rupert RCMP is asking anyone that may have information regarding this incident to contact the Detachment at 250-627-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Please remember that Crime Stoppers pays cash for information that leads to an arrest. We don't want your name, just your information.
