Masset RCMP seize $51,500 in drugs from the airport

On September 8, 2012, members of the Masset RCMP entered into a drug trafficking investigation where police believed cocaine was being transported from Vancouver to Haida Gwaii on a local airline.

On September 9, 2012 Members of the Masset RCMP attended the Masset Airport and continued their investigation which lead to the seizure of 728.78 grams of cocaine and 2.28 grams of marijuana. The seizure has an estimated street value of approximately $51,500.

"Through our investigation we were able to intercept this large quantity of cocaine and prevent it from being sold in our community," stated Cpl. Andrew Baylis of the Masset RCMP Detachment, noting that the matter was still under investigation.
