Prince Rupert school district's budget process coming to an end
School District 52’s annual budget consultation process is drawing to an end, with the first two readings of the Annual Budget Bylaw for the fiscal year of 2012/2013 being read at last week’s monthly school board meeting.
The current bylaw is a status quo budget that is maintaining all existing programs, as well as level of service. The bylaw has a surplus of $25,000.
With the bylaw being read twice now, the board can now discuss next school year’s budget at a special meeting being held on Monday, April 23, starting at 7 p.m. at the board office At this meeting the board will consider changes to the budget to address one or more of the proposals the board received during the budget consultation process. The budget will be approved at this meeting, which will be open to the public.
