BC Book Prizes authors toured the north in late April and arrived at Charles Hays Secondary School. Northern Savings Credit Union adopted Charles Hays as part of BC Book Prizes’ Adopt-a-Library program, which brings BC Book Prizes finalist books into school libraries. Adele Barclay, third from right, won the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize awarded to the author of the best work of poetry for “If I Were in a Cage, I’d Reach Out for You.” Northern Savings donated $500 to BC Book Prizes for the program.
